I feel like this picture will be one for the history books. Inspite this year of not getting a chance in the Playoffs, that doesn't mean the Orioles offensive and defensive wasn't getting awarded. The Orioles brought home the largest in both leagues for Gold Gloves (tied with the Royals) with three and a record-breaking three silver sluggers. So will this mean the Orioles have a chance if they step up their bullpen?
Adam Jones and J.J Hardy were the only players this year to receive both awards for their position. Davis, yeah he wowed up at the batting box, but not the base. Well he did, but he didn't do all those weird jumps or anything.
I was quite surprised when Machado didn't get picked for his position, but he was competing with another all time great, Cabrera and yeah Machado was hitting well but he wasn't that much of an outbreak considering this is the same kid who hit a home run on his first hit. But, Machado did win the platinum glove for the American League so...
Another note I thought of when I was looking at the picture above is how well Machado looks considering he got surgery a month ago.. I see no cast, no wincing or anything I sort of forgot he was even injured. There's no way he's going to miss opening day or spring training. But you never know..
