Obstructive Call- Was It The Right Choice?
Watching replays over and over again of that play, I am still not sure if the guy was out at 3rd. By the looks of it to me, he did not touch base. I don't really care what happened but I only cared those red sox didn't get the call their way like they usually do. Usually plays go the home teams way or else they'll be some on-field riot like the Braves did which was a pretty awesome riot if you ask me.
But seeing the shocked faces of Saltalamacchia and Pedroia made me think of the Orioles. Mainly when Jim Johnson would pull off the same exact thing. I can only imagine how painful it is for the red sox fans because if you recall this same exact thing happened with the Orioles. I remember this was the first day some new rule was coming into play and a clear home run was called foul. Then A-Fraud came up to bad and scored the winning home run.
Personally I feel like MLB is blind right now. No matter how convincing the proof is they let the player off easy. I know... baseball is always unfair- but in a case like this, yeah it is. Teams that are devoted and loyal to winning are run off by teams with drugs, frauds and corruption. I hope one day MLB WILL realize that this is happening and hopefully put a stop to any of these calls, drugs and scandals. Really, players are making way too much of a profit from using drugs which means they'll get paid to kick it under the carpet.
